Duran Duran, covered by Red
Came in from a rainy Thursday on the avenue
I thought I heard you talking softly
I turned on the lights, the TV and the radio
and still I can't escape the ghost of you
What has happened to it all?
Crazy, some would say
Where is the life I recognize?
Gone away
BUT I WON'T CRY FOR YESTERDAY
THERE'S AN ORDINARY WORLD
SOMEHOW I HAVE TO FIND
AND AS I TRY TO MAKE MY WAY
TO THE ORDINARY WORLD
I WILL LEARN TO SURVIVE
Passion or coincidence once prompted you to say,
"pride will tear us both apart"
well now pride's gone out the window
'Cross the rooftops, run away
left me in the vacuum of my heart
What has happened to me?
crazy, some would say
where is my friend when I need you most?
Gone Away
BUT I WON'T CRY FOR YESTERDAY
THERE'S AN ORDINARY WORLD
SOMEHOW I HAVE TO FIND
AND AS I TRY TO MAKE MY WAY
TO THE ORDINARY WORLD
I WILL LEARN TO SURVIVE
What has happened to it all?
Crazy, some would say
Where is the world that I recognize?
Gone away
BUT I WON'T CRY FOR YESTERDAY
THERE'S AN ORDINARY WORLD
SOMEHOW I HAVE TO FIND
AND AS I TRY TO MAKE MY WAY
TO THE ORDINARY WORLD
I WILL LEARN TO SURVIVE
Everyone is my world
I will learn to survive
Everyone, Everyone
Somehow I have to find
Cool song. What exactly is it about? I came up with a couple different ideas, but couldn't decide. What kind of tack are you taking with it?
ReplyDeletecheers, bye
The writer of this song, one of the guys from Duran Duran, lost a close friend and that inspired him to write this song. It's all about how his world is upside down without that person. There's plenty of emotions to work with here. Not sure what I'm doing with it
ReplyDeleteNick,
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything here that can become Essay one in the next 72 hours. You are supposed to post your progress.
Interesting song but I don't really see a tremendous amount of information you can draw from it.
ReplyDeleteChange the date on this page under "Post Options" so that it is always the first to come up.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to give me a post that explains your Compare/contrast paper--what you are going to compare and how you are going to compare it.
